Blessed Imelda Lambertini
1322-1333

Blessed Imelda Lambertini was from Bologna, Spain. She wondered at five how anyone could receive Jesus into his heart and not die. At nine, she entered the Dominican convent near Bologna.
Her one desire in life was to receive her Lord.

One day during Holy Mass on the Vigil of the Ascension, a miraculous occurrence happened. After Holy Mass, the other nuns in the convent returned to the chapel after smelling a sweet fragrance emanating from the chapel. The Blessed Sacrament was suspended over Blessed Imelda’s head. At this, the priest gave her the Sacred Host. Blessed Imelda died in the state of ecstasy after receiving Holy Communion.
