Saint Joan of Arc 1412-1431 Saint Joan of Arc was born into a pious, peasant family. Devoted to God from a young age, she heard the voices of various saints prompting her to lead the French army in an attempt to reclaim French territory from the English. Joan led the armies of France to victory over the English but was captured by enemy forces. At just nineteen years old, Joan, accused of witchcraft, was burned at the stake. She was canonized in 1920 and is considered one of history’s greatest martyrs. Saint Joan of Arc, Pray for us! |
