Most probably born of royal descent in Donegal, Ireland, Saint Columba was to be hailed in Ireland as the converter of the Picts and founder of the Monastery of Iona.

Saint Columba studied at Moville under Saint Finnian and again in Leinster under another Saint Finnian. Ordained even before reaching the age of 25, Saint Columba was a gifted preacher and teacher of the Faith.

His zealous precahing led to the conversion of many souls to the Church in Ireland.
